An unexpected 25-30,000 Starling roosted in the south east bay this evening, finally dropping in at 6.10pm. There hasn't been much of a Starling roost this winter, so this took me by surprise. 15 Golden Plover flew over this afternoon, also 11 Oystercatcher were present. A juvenile Goshawk was chasing Wood Pigeon late afternoon, also a Peregrine was noted. I've posted a video of the Starlings on You Tube.
