4 Great Egret were on the north shore today. 45 Pintail were present. A Red Kite flew over this afternoon.
This morning, I took a trip up to Cannock Chase to see the Great Grey Shrike that has wintered there. It has been a hard bird to catch up with, but the last week or so, the bird has been fairly settled in the shooting butts area. It performed very well in the early morning sunshine, observed sub singing and catching bees. It's the first one I've seen since the 2020 Seven Springs bird. Some footage can be viewed here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGUI9Ltvx9k
