BELVIDE 31.8.25 Cloudy S 3-4

Today I made my 10,000th visit to the reserve, after my first on the 10th March 1984. That's exactly 15,149 days in that time. I reckon I've walked at least 26,000 miles up and down the reserve and cycled around 100,000 miles getting there.

The 2 Lesser Scaup and Garganey were still present. 9 Stonechat were off the west track. 2 Spotted Flycatcher were around the Gazebo hide. At least 22 Swift through this morning. 3 Greenshank, 1 Green Sandpiper, 4 Common Sandpiper, 2 Ringed Plover and 2 Curlew were present. 8 Great Egret and 9 Little Egret were at the west end. 337 Cormorant were counted. 2 Hobby, 2 Peregrine and a Red Kite were noted.

  1. Wow! I think that some sort of statue is in order! I'm sure I speak for many when I thank you for your sterling commitment to the Res.
