The 2 Lesser Scaup remain at the west end with 165 Tufted Duck. The Black-necked Grebe remains opposite the Gazebo hide but no sign of the Common Scoter today. The first 3 returning Snipe were at the west end. A Green Sandpiper flew over this morning, also 7 Common Sandpiper, 4 Ringed Plover, 16 LRP , 1 Dunlin and 3 Oystercatcher were present. 2 Red Kite flew over. 7 Little Egret and a Great Egret were noted. An adult Yellow-legged Gull was present briefly this morning. A juvenile Wheatear was on the north shore.
Hi Steve, great to bump into you yesterday and enjoyed the chat. It's good to, finally, put a face to a name! I look forward to birding the place on a more regular basis. Walking the Southern edge was almost unrecognisable from the 80's and all for the better. I thought i might have had an Arctic Tern sitting on the Fishing Club shore but sifting through the photos it was another Common - Regards, Laurie.....
